All items collected are sorted and used to fill purses, bags, and satchels (also donated) that can often become all a woman owns, particularly for women who leave their homes in a hurry. Please consider purchasing some items (small and trial size) and leaving them in the box in the atrium on Sunday mornings. Current needs include: face wash, tweezers, "Wet Ones" packs, pens, notepads, gloves, socks, tissue packs, nail ciippers, shower puffs, hairbrushes, gum and bandaids.

Newcomers' Class
Even if you've been coming to All Saints' for a while, the whirlwind of activity and opportunities surrounding your new church can sometimes create more questions than answers. Are you searching for ways to plug in? Explanations about why we do what we do? About what we believe? Where to turn for assistance? All this and more can be answered by attending the Newcomers Class, a three-part program that will be held on Sunday mornings to teach you all about life at All Saints'. This is not a membership class. It is simply an opportunity to learn a little about our history, ways to get involved, hear about the many opportunities we have available here, and most importantly, to ask questions. Classes are held on Sundays during the Discipleship hour. Please RSVP: Call Naomi Iber (703)670-0093 ext.106 or email Childcare will be made available upon request.

Foundations for Ministry Course Sign-up
It's not too late to sign up for Foundations for Ministry, an adult Bible study designed to equip participants to meet the challenges of daily opportunities for ministry in the Church and in the world through the study of God’s Word.  This two-year course of Bible study is divided into two academic years but students commit to one year of study at a time. Class combines teaching and small group discussion based on weekly homework and meets from 6 to 8 p.m. each Sunday evening during the school year.  We are beginning a new two-year cycle in September and registering for Year One: Old Testament.  For more information and to register for Foundations, please go to the Foundations web page available on the church website at

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” -- 1 Corinthians 3:11

Finding the Holy Spirit you ever felt God calling you to be a person that prayed for others to be healed? Wondered about the historical place that healing has held in the life of the Church? P
ondered the theology or behind a ministry of healing? Have you ever said, “There has to be more to the Christian life and my walk with God?” If you answered maybe, or yes to these questions, then we have an opportunity for you to be a part of a beta-test program that presents the ministry of healing, and other spiritual gifts in a historical, theological, biblical understanding and prepares you to for ministry in these areas.

The two-day course will be held at All Saints' Church Friday, September 29, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Instructed by Rev. James Guthrie, this course will assist in completion of his D. Min dissertation and is part of his research for the project. Participants will be asked to take part in three online surveys to assist in the research part of the project. There is no charge for the conference. Please register at so enough materials can be prepared for the event.

Bible 101 101 is a course for those who would like to develop more confidence in reading and studying the Bible. Participants will become familiar with God’s Word making it less imposing and more engaging and understandable. Considering that the Bible is the primary way of understanding God’s character and His plan for us “from the beginning,” this course will be an important step in uncovering the common threads that come together to make the Bible the greatest book ever written.

We will study the Bible's basics, organization, and consistent message. The structure of the class will be a period of instruction followed by discussion, questions, and a short Bible study keyed to the lesson. Each participant will be asked to sign a covenant agreement for the nine sessions, pledging to commit to every meeting, unless unforeseen circumstances make attendance impossible.

Goliath Must Fall

Please join us for Pastor Louie Giglio’s new Bible Study, Goliath Must Fall: Winning the Battle Against Your Giants. “Many of us have giants in our lives—hang-ups and habits, fears and insecurities that keep us from reaching our full potential. Frozen, we lose sight of the promise God has for our lives and settle for far less than best. But there is a better way forward… Louis Giglio offers powerful insights from the Biblical story of David that will help you overcome your giants once and for all by fixing your eyes on the size of your God, not the size of your giant.”

We meet in All Saints’ multi-purpose room each Tuesday from 10 a.m.—noon. This is a great way to introduce a friend to Bible Study. Whether you’ve done many Bible Studies or none, all women are welcome, and we’ve saved a place for you. The cost for this DVD based series and workbook is $9. Free childcare is available in the church nursery. Contact for more information, to order a workbook, or to reserve a place in the nursery for your child.

Women's Thursday Morning Bible Class: Acts of the Apostles, Part 2

Thursday Morning Women’s Bible Class has resumed with the continuing study of the Acts of the Apostles. Join in the study and discussion of the exciting story of how the gospel spread after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Read about the transition from Judaism to Christianity and discuss the role of the Holy Spirit in guiding the apostles (especially Peter and Paul) in the early development of the Christian church. Follow the apostles' travels and hardships they encountered in laboring to obey the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ in Acts 1:8. Learn ways that Christians today can continue to obey and carry out the Great Commission. Class convenes on Thursdays from 9: 30 to 11:30 am in the lower level multipurpose room. The final session is December 7.  Contact Connie Odems at (703) 583-0391 with any questions. Click here to register online.

Volunteers needed for December Chili Cook-off and Hoedown
We're looking for a group of folks who enjoy a good time and don't mind putting in some elbow grease to make it happen. This annual gala is one of All Saints' most popular fellowship events, but requires a bit more advanced planning than some others. We could use help planning, decorating, judging (chili and desserts), setting up, and tearing down. If you're interested, please call Cathy Riddle at 703-670-0093 or email her at

There's a spot for you wherever you would feel most comfortable serving--in the kitchen, in the nursery, in the office, helping to set up the altar, helping during the service as a reader, usher, chalice bearer or working in the audio-visual booth. If you are being called to serve, please contact the office at 703-670-0093 or via email to Training will be provided if needed on an individual basis.
