Joy, Strength, Community Together, Unity in the Spirit

What does it all mean? 16: For the second year, All Saints’ Church is one of many across the country participating in a national effort to bring our neighbors to church, or back to church, in some cases. This year’s theme is “You Belong Here.”  Are there people in your day-to-day lives who are struggling without Jesus? People you’d love to see discover the joy that comes with living in the Truth of God’s Word? Would you say they Belong Here? If so, here are some basic steps you can take to help them take the first steps toward finding, and perhaps joining a church in this area.

1. Pray. Start now, by asking God to bring to mind anyone He would have you invite. Pray He would stir their hearts and that they be open to an invitation.
2. Invite. We will have invitation cards in the Atrium starting August 26 that you can personalize and deliver, inviting your friends and neighbors to All Saints’ on September 16th. Of course, they can come sooner, but that day will be just a tad more festive than others.
3. Offer to drive. Or, if they don’t need a ride, arrive early and be waiting in the Atrium so you can welcome them and show them around, introduce them to other church members. Wear your name tag that day (if you don’t have one, stop at the Newcomer kiosk and be sure and order one.
4. Point them to and offer to join them in the “Next Step.” We have a great learning and growing opportunity planned for both new and seasoned All Saints’ members: a church-wide small group study that will be getting underway September 30. Handouts will be available on September 9th and 16th with all the details, but here’s a sneak peek:, Act, and Believe Like Jesus

All Saints’ Church will be launching its church-wide small-group study of Randy Frazee’s book, Think, Act, and Believe like Jesus on Sept 30. This ten-week study will be covered in both sermons and in small groups, in youth group, children’s church, and in established and soon-to-be established adult groups.  Watch for details on how to get your copy and how to sign up for a small group (if you don’t already have one), as well as a schedule for the readings. An information page will be created on our website soon!

Farewell Picnic for Father Dan
Please join us as we say farewell to Father Dan and Kristin the way All Saints' Church says it best: with food and fellowship. We will be gathering after Father Dan's final service, August 26, for a potluck meal, after which we will share stories and good wishes. In the weeks to come, there will be an opportunity for anyone who would like to sign our farewell gift or to make a donation to Dan and Kristin (not to ASC) for their journey.

  • August 25: Protecting God's Children Workshop

Our youth group continues to meet every Thursday for Bible study and group activities. Watch for news about upcoming summer events for Consumed! and Elevate! on our website at

Seeking Beanie Babies
Thank you for your generous Beanie Baby donations to the ASC Needlework Ministry. If you still would like to donate, there is an on-going need for as many as can be provided. The Needlework ministry will be using Beanie Babies to create “Lovey” toys for first responders to give to children in chaotic or frightening situations. These Loveys will be given to the Dumfries Police Department for officers to keep in their cars; whenever they respond to domestic disturbance calls where children are present, these toys can provide a calming influence and a bridge through the fear.  If you have  Beanie Babies you can part with, please consider donating them to this ministry.  A collection box is available in the atrium.

CareNet Banquet
Please consider attending the CareNet Pregnancy Resource Center's annual fundraising banquet, October 26, at 6 p.m. in the Westfields Marriott, Chantilly. Evening highlights include client testimonies and a powerful address from keynote speaker David Bereit, Author and Former CEO of 40 Days for Life. For more information, visit

If you, your small group, or your circle of friends would like to host an LoL table, please email us at Please wear your name tags this summer to help us put names and faces together as we become better acquainted. If you haven’t received a name tag, stop at the Newcomer kiosk in the atrium and sign up to have one made.
