Learning & Confirming What We Believe
What is it?
Confirmation is when adults and young adults make a public profession of faith and commit themselves to becoming full members of the body of Christ in the Anglican church and more specifically in All Saints' Church. This commitment is marked by a growing disciple of Christ eager to learn, develop and press on to a life that reflects the full stature of Christ. For 7 weeks, students of all ages will prepare for their confirmation when the bishop visits All Saints’ Church. Join us as we learn the essentials of our faith, what it means to be an Anglican, and how we are to pursue a life in Christ.
Who is it for?
It is for anyone who would like to prepare for confirmation and anyone looking to take the next step in his/her faith journey. This means anyone who is baptized and ready to make a public affirmation of the faith. Students and adults, age 16 and older, ready to confirm or re-affirm their faith. This is also a great opportunity if you would like to become an official member of the church or have come from another tradition and would like to commemorate your decision to become a church member of All Saints’ by being confirmed, received from another denomination or re-affirmed in your faith publicly at All Saints’. Completion of Learning & Confirming What We Believe is required for Confirmation, Reception and Reaffirmation. (Those wishing to Reaffirm their Baptismal Vows who have previously been Confirmed or Received into the Anglican Church are not required to take the Confirmation Course but are strongly encouraged to.)
This class is also for anyone who might like to learn or relearn these things for themselves. These foundational teachings are ones that all of us can be reminded of and encouraged by. They can help us as we share with others the traditions and principles our church is founded on. So come join us as we prepare, learn and remind ourselves of all that make us who we are.
