All Saintsβ Church in the community Outreach Budget
The Road to Resurrection began in 2021 as an outreach to the community during Holy Week, leading up to Easter. Similar to The Living Nativity, there are costumed scenes from the Bible. Participants get to walk around the property to experience each scene leading up to the death and resurrection of Jesus. This family friendly event has live animals, a petting zoo, crafts, trikes, an Easter egg hunt, and door prizes!
Food Giveaways have been a monthly occurrence at All Saintsβ Church since March of 2021. What makes the Food Giveaways unique to those who come through is the variety of fresh produce, meat, bread, and milk. Additionally guests of the Food Giveaways can choose from the nonperishable or canned goods, ensuring they get the food that best suits their families needs. The Food Giveaways offer a prayer tent for anyone in need of specific prayer.
After a Virtual VBS in 2020, Vacation Bible School has been on location at All Saintsβ Church since 2021! VBS is open to all children in the community, and special invitations were made to those attending our monthly Food Giveaways, and Story Time at the Park. The format of Vacation Bible School at All Saintsβ Church allows children to be in small groups (called crews) that they travel around the building with all week! Bible points for each day make the Gospel message easy to understand for children who donβt attend a local church. VBS volunteers serve in all different areas throughout the week, and members of the community are welcomed into our beautiful building.
Story Time in the Park is a tangible way that All Saintsβ Church is reaching the surrounding Dale City Community families. Starting in 2020 with various locations, Story Time now takes place every week at Cloverdale Park. Childrenβs Ministry Director, Tara Pedersen, has been able to form relationships with moms and children who see Story Time taking place Thursday mornings, and join in to participate as well. These relationships have led to families attending (and serving) in Vacation Bible School, and participating in Sunday morning activities. Story Time in the Park promotes literacy and the benefits of reading to children. It also provides snacks and an educational craft for all children who attend.
