The women’s ministry exists to transform women’s lives through relationships with Jesus Christ and with one another:
to actively promote love among all women with the love of Christ through the power of the Spirit.
to provide meaningful opportunities for all women to grow individually and communally.
to serve God through support of the various ministries offer in All Saints’ Church for the expansion of His kingdom and to the glory of God the Father.
Since April 2019 several women have been meeting in the prayer center the first Monday of every month to seek God’s will and vision for the women of All Saints’ this year. We believe we have heard God tell us that His desire for us this year specifically is to heal and build relationships by:
emphasizing His unmerited grace towards us in calling us each to be his daughter (reconciliation with God: 2 Corinthians 5:18–21; Colossians 1:21–23)
experiencing the inner healing that flows out of knowing we are each His beloved child (reconciliation with ourselves: Isaiah 61:1–2b; Psalm 34:18; Jeremiah 30); and
loving and learning to forgive each other as we are loved and forgiven (reconciliation with each other: Matthew 5:23–24; 1 Corinthians 1:10–11; Corinthians 13:4-7).
The women of All Saints’ Church donate items and assemble Blessing Bags to Turning Points, the abused women's shelter. Many of the women arrive at the shelter with almost no belongings, often because they had to flee their situation. The Blessing Bags are filled with emergency supplies, such as travel-sized soaps and lotions.
A Blessing Bag collection box is usually set up in the atrium on Sunday mornings. Items typically needed are:
Face wash | Toothbrushes and toothpaste | Tweezers and nail clippers | "WetOnes" packs | Notepads and pens | Gloves | Socks | Tissue packs | Shower puffs | Hairbrushes and combs | Gum | Bandaids
If you or your small group is interested in finding out more about these purses, please contact Lee or Jennifer Roberds at 703-590-7918.
The Needlework Ministry is a creative and prayerful group who combines talents and enthusiasm to create quilts, shawls, and hats for those in spiritual need.
The ministry consists of two groups, quilting and knitting/crocheting, sharing created items and inspirational stories. A short Bible study is followed by prayers for the items and individual needs. We then work in small groups on our projects.
The finished items are blessed during a church service annually and then donated to those in need.
The ministry is grateful for monetary and fabric/yarn donations.
The Needlework Ministry meets the first Saturday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the multi-purpose room.
