This Sunday, June 26 is Christian Education Celebration Sunday. Thank you to all who serve in Adult Education, Small Groups, Youth Leaders, Children’s Church, and Children’s Sunday School!
Mark your calendar for Friday, July 22 when WGTS will be broadcasting live from All Saints’ Church for a stop on their summer ice cream tour! There will be music, games, fun with the DJ’s Johnny & Stacey, a moon bounce, and free ice cream! WGTS will be at All Saints’ from 3-7 p.m. This is an exciting event for the whole family, and a great way to engage with community members who stop by!
With Father Scott+ out of town, and Father Jedd teaching the new Membership Course Wednesday evenings, there will be no Wednesday morning Eucharist at 6:30 or 8:30 a.m. for three Wednesdays in a row (July 6, 13, and 20).
Due to Father Jedd traveling, and several teens and youth leaders recovering from illness, there will be no Sunday School for the Youth on Sunday, June 26. For more upcoming events click here for the Youth Calendar.

This week, we are featuring a staff member at All Saints’ Church to encourage our community to stay connected and find ways to get involved. This week, we’re featuring Deacon Julie Tilton.
We asked her a few questions to get to know her and her ministries better.
How did you come to All Saints' Church?
I attended Christ the Redeemer (CTR) in Centreville for a number of years, and continued on as the Director of Spiritual Formation for 6 years even after I moved to Prince William County. When the price of gasoline spiked to $4 a gallon in 2008 I decided it was time to switch to All Saints’, shortening both the time and the cost of my commute to church considerably! And now gasoline is almost $5 a gallon!!! I was also familiar with All Saints’, having brought a team of intercessors from CTR for the training that the Rev. Valerie Whitcomb was providing at All Saints’ for Restoring the Foundations (RTF).
What ministries do you lead?
In addition to serving as a Deacon I am the Director of Caring Ministries (which includes Stephen Ministry), and also the staff liaison for Women’s Ministry (including Needlework and Blessing Bags.) I also receive the prayer requests from the online prayer form on our web site, and coordinate these requests with 15 intercessors. In addition I oversee and facilitate GriefShare sessions online for persons within and without our church who have lost a loved one.
When did God call you into ordained ministry?
For a number of years I coordinated housing and travel for the Titus Institute of Church Planting for trips of would be church planters to a large annual church planting conference in Orlando. On one of these trips (2011-12) I was chatting with Rev. Susan Bubbers, a priest in Florida, when she suddenly told me I should seek the diaconate, that it was all over me. At the time I thought deacons were a step to becoming a priest and I told her I was not called to be a priest. When she said she meant the permanent diaconate I felt a shock go through me! The rest is history. I was ordained a Deacon by Bishop John in 2014.
What is your favorite thing about being a deacon?
Reading the Gospel and leading the Prayers of the People.
How can the church be praying for you?
For continued recovery from a lung illness that has damaged my lungs; and that I do not contract Covid.
Where do you see God working in the ministries you lead?
All Saints’ is currently holding its 6th GriefShare course and in every course there has been tremendous healing over the 13 weeks from beginning to end. There has also been healing and support provided by Stephen Ministers
What are the biggest challenges these ministries are facing?
We have a transient congregation and a number of trained Stephen Leaders have moved away. And while women seem receptive to having a trained spiritual confidant walk with them through the valley, men are reluctant to accept a Stephen Minister.
What is the most exciting place you've visited?
New Zealand for 10 days in 2001 with family.

I love listening to the BibleProject podcast while I walk my dog Shiloh.
Besides the Bible, what is the most formative book you've read?
“Nine O’Clock in the Morning” by Dennis Bennett. It brought me back in to the church in about 1975. It was the first time I understood what grace was, and that I could not earn it. I just had to receive it.
What do you like to do for fun outside of church?
Play with my dog and with my grandchildren. Read historical fiction and mysteries.

This week, we are featuring the Food Giveaways through an interview with Tammy Bailey.
We asked her a few questions to get to know her and this ministry better!
How did the monthly food giveaways start at All Saints’ Church?
It all started with the vision of Scott+. As he shared with me his passion to share the love of Christ by providing food for those in need in our community, my heart was stirred and I wanted to be involved. Alison Pachecano was already serving in the existing food pantry ministry at All Saints’ and immediately jumped on board. Although we were in the midst of the pandemic, she suggested that we explore a model that would allow people the dignity of selecting their own food. Sylvia Dean visited another food giveaway ministry and encouraged the same approach. It didn’t take long and we had a plan together for an outdoor food giveaway. Our church family was amazing and quickly came together to make our first food giveaway happen in March 2021.
What is your favorite thing about leading this ministry?
There are so many aspects of this ministry that I love! I don’t know that I can pick just one favorite, but I’ll narrow it down to two. First, I love that every month we get to invite people from our community into God’s house and show them his love by meeting a tangible need and offering them prayer, friendly smiles, and kind words. Second, I absolutely love the way our church family works together, serving side-by-side in so many different ways, to bless our community. There’s no better fellowship than serving Christ together!
What has been the biggest challenge?
My heart’s desire is to see individuals meet Jesus as they experience his love through our food giveaways. However, so many of our guests do not speak English. Sharing the good news of Christ with them is challenging due to the language barrier. Likewise, while we invite every guest to worship with us, we know that those who do not speak English are less likely to return for our services. Please join me in praying that God will open doors and show us how best to minister to our non-English-speaking neighbors.
How can the church be praying for you?
As the ministry continues to grow, I would ask for prayer for
wisdom as we continue to expand (especially regarding raising up more leaders within the ministry)
God’s provision of enough food to meet the growing needs
Where do you see God working in this ministry?
Wow! God has been amazing! I had no idea when we begin this ministry last year where God would take us. Each month I love to hear the reports from the prayer team of the individuals who come through seeking a touch from God. Likewise, God has brought us together as a church family to serve with united vision. He has opened the doors for a growing relationship with Title 1 schools, especially Neabsco Elementary School. And his tremendous grace and provision was evident when we were selected to receive the $90,000 grant to enhance this ministry.
What’s coming up in the months ahead for the food giveaways and the other outreach ministries?
We will continue our food giveaways on the second Saturday of each month. In addition, we will also be serving resettled refugees, which will include deliveries to the homes of many who do not yet have transportation. Our commitment to providing fresh, healthy food will be enhanced as our garden volunteers grow fresh vegetables. Additionally, First Fruits Farm in Freeland, Maryland will be providing fresh produce from July through November. We will continue to foster our growing relationship with Neabsco Elementary School by providing weekly food to students who might not otherwise have enough food on the weekend and food for those families throughout the summer months. We will also be collecting school supplies for Neabsco students. Finally, we will soon be seeing the grant funds being used to purchase a 40-foot storage container which will hold non-perishables as well as a freezer for perishables. This will further enable us to secure donations of fresh food from local grocery stores.
What would you say to someone who wants to serve this ministry, but is not sure where to begin?
Show up! 😊 The monthly food giveaways are such a great place to start with something for everyone who wants to serve. I would also love to have a conversation with anyone who wants to get involved but isn’t sure what role best fits for them. There are jobs that can be done during weekdays, evenings, weekends…sitting, standing, driving…lifting heavy boxes or sitting at a table or computer…once a month or every week…at the church or in the community…you get the idea. If you want to serve, there is definitely a place for you!

Lift up our Youth Group students and leaders in prayer as many of them will be attending the Camp Booyah June 12-17. This summer camp was started to provide students from Anglican Churches a summer camp rooted in the rich liturgy and tradition of the Anglican church, with a missional focus through daily community service projects, and the adventure and fun of competitions and games.
You can worship with the students by listening to the Booyah 2022 playlist below! These songs will be featured at each night’s worship service.

Small group crews and their Crew Leader will travel together for each day's adventure, worshipping and singing at Sing & Play Celebration, digging into Bible Adventures, experimenting with Science-y Fun at Imagination Station, playing games at Red Rocks Rec, view Kid-Vid Cinema real-kid testimonies, and eat fun treats at Oasis Tastes. Ages Kindergarten graduates through 5th grade. 6th graders and up can serve as Crew Leaders or Assistants! Registration opens Memorial Day Weekend!
Have a preschooler ages 3-5? Quail Trail Preschool VBS is just for Pre-K kids! (Registration priority for volunteers; 20 slots available). Little ones gather with the older kids for Sing & Play Celebration each day (except Day 1 so they can immediately connect with their Crew Leaders & Quail Trail Preschool Area), experience a little less structure and more free-choice play in a simpler learning environment, enjoy PreK Quail Trail decorations, play on the playground, get messy with irresistible craft and play activities, and have their own interactive Bible Adventure!
Sunday, June 26 is our fourth Sunday prayer and worship hour from 6-7 p.m. at All Saints’ Church in the sanctuary. Join us as we pray for our congregation, community, and upcoming outreach events.
Next Monday, June 13 the church asphalt will get rejuvenated. Specific areas of the lot will be CLOSED throughout the week. Please see the map and schedule below to plan accordingly. Walking on the rejuvenation material while lots are closed down will ruin shoes, track onto concrete, rugs & floors.

On June 29 All Saints' Church will provide a meal to the homeless through Streetlight Ministries. We will be feeding 75 people that evening! Food & drinks should be dropped off ready to serve at the Pathways Vineyard Church between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. Food should be warm and ready to serve. The point of contact at the church is Linda Coleman.
