Follow Along a Pilgrimage of Pain and Faith

Susan Sams Baggott of All Saints’ Church will be walking a pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago in Spain August 28- September 10! She invites you to join her virtually here as she walks a Pilgrimage of Pain and Faith. Here from Susan in her own words:

“Chronic pain leads to exhaustion and depression. It can be isolating and lonely in its cocoon of misery. But it doesn’t need to be. Millions of people suffer chronic pain. Follow along as I blog about the pilgrimage and the spiritual experience. Share your stories of encouragement and conquest along with me. Together, let’s build a community of support.”

We’ll be sure to follow along with her journey and we’ll be catching up with her afterwords to hear her thoughts and reflections on this incredible leap of faith!

Thank You, VBS Volunteers!

MONUMENTAL thanks to all 55 volunteers that have served to make VBS come together so smoothly! So many hands and hearts, from decorating days in the school year to summer snack and craft prep days, to Crew and Station Leaders, to all the contributions in, around, before, during, and after! Each role made for a wonderful event leading our little ones to Jesus. The Lord revealed Himself in bringing the church body together in a beautiful blend of giftings, and many new families coming to ASC for the first time, both during VBS and on VBS Celebration Sunday. Thank you again to each individual that gave to VBS! With our Sunday, Storytime, MOPS, and AHG ministries, we will be able to continue our relationships in discipling children for Jesus! What an AWESOME GOD we serve!

August Food Giveaway!

Saturday, August 13, is another opportunity to give food away to our neighbors in need. We have been averaging more than 200 people collecting food at each food giveaway! There is a real need in our community, and God is orchestrating a way for us to work together to share his love by meeting that need.

It is vacation season so we could really use the help of all of you who are in town next week. Volunteers are needed Thursday (sorting food), Friday (at the perishable food drive and helping with set-up), and Saturday at the giveaway. Sign up to serve and experience the joy of giving firsthand!

It is a blessing to provide non-perishables as well as fresh chicken and fresh produce to every family who comes! As always there are specific foods we need donated each month.

Food items most needed:

  • maseca

  • cartons of oats

  • pancake mix

  • soups

  • corn

  • pasta sauce

  • rice

Bread, fresh fruit, and vegetables will be collected Friday, August 12 between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Please pray! This ministry belongs to God and only through Him are we able to make a difference in the lives of others.

Thanks again for all your support! If you have any questions, please contact Tammy.

“You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.”
