Now in its 40th year, Sharing of Ministries Abroad is an international mission agency called by God to serve the Anglican Communion and the worldwide Church through short-term, cross-cultural missions both locally and abroad, ministering to the clergy and lay leaders alike.
The International Board comprises Anglican Renewal leaders drawn from ten nations together with the National Directors. The International Chairman is Rt Revd Ben Kwashi of Nigeria. There are also National SOMA offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, Nigeria, Singapore, New Zealand, South Africa, and Uganda.
If you feel tugged to serve on an international mission, SOMA is a good place to start, as is the tri-annual New Wineskins Conference, which is being held this year, Sept. 26-29 at Ridgecrest Conference Center near Asheville, NC.
There are many people in the All Saints' Congregation who would love to talk to you about missions. Contact Ed Speare, Tim McCleerey, Carol Updike, or Ron Davis for starters.
New Wineskins: Are You Being Called?
There is still time to sign up to attend the New Wineskins conference, September 26-29, near Asheville, NC. All Saints' Church has set up a scholarship fund to help offset the registration costs, but attendees must pay for their lodging and meals. Those interested in attending, please contact Jean McCleerey for more information.
