David Bjork continues his class “Understanding Your Bible The Way Jesus Understood His” through June 14.

Saint Luke tells us how, on the road to Emmaus, the resurrected Jesus “opened the Scriptures” to two troubled disciples, explaining to them from Moses and all the prophets those things pertaining to himself. Based on the belief that the Old Testament is to be read in the light of the Christ, and the New Testament is to be read in light of God’s revelation to Israel, this class will attempt to follow that example.

Beginning with How to Read the Bible, we will examine more than 30 scriptural themes including Chaos and Dragons, Blessing and Curses, Anointing, Eternal Life, Spiritual Beings, Son of Man, Exile, and the Image of God. Each week there will be a short multimedia presentation followed by around 40 minutes of group discussion.
