Texas Flood Relief
The flash flooding of the Guadalupe River in Central Texas caught residents and campers by surprise in the middle of the night and into the early morning hours of July 4. A month’s worth of rain fell in hours as entire houses were swept away by violently swift waters. Along with residential areas, Camp Mystic, a Christian girl’s camp, was caught in the flooding. Currently, there are 82 reported deaths and 41 people still missing across the state.
The Anglican Relief and Development Fund (ARDF) is working with the North American Lutheran Church to help identify needs and coordinate response efforts early in the coming week, including the delivery of flood relief supplies from ACNA churches in the area with Disaster Response Warehouses.
We are pre-staging and putting a plan in place to stand ready to respond after first responders say it is safe to enter the area.
We know of affected Anglican clergy and church members, and we stand ready to assist them and their communities as we can. Please pray for those who have lost family members in this tragedy.
