Pray for Our Nation Through Intercessors for America
Take a look at the message from Mother Valarie below regarding an important resource on intercessory prayer.
“Intercessors for America, a 50 year old organization located in Purcellville, VA, is a source of information on a variety of topics related to our nation, as well as weekly prayers which we can utilize to pray for various aspects of our national life.
On their website you can review various topics concerning the current headlines (for example, the war in Ukraine). They publish a new set of prayer requests and information about 2 or 3 times per week.
In addition to their website, they also publish phone numbers where we can join in with other intercessors and prayer warriors around the nation. A staff person from IFA guides the calls, and these also often include well-known figures in the political, economic, or education world who will add their voice to a topic through an interview format. I (Mother Valarie) try to phone into these calls so I can join with others in prayer.
Please consider using this as a resource for prayer. As you are undoubtedly aware, our nation is in desperate need of the prayers of righteous men and women of faith whose prayers avail much! (James 5:16b)”
If you want more information about this ministry, please contact Mother Valarie.
Call for Vestry Nominations
It’s hard to believe we’re into October already. Now is the time to pray about whom God would have you nominate for the 2023 Vestry.
Here are the steps to take:
Pray
Submit a name or names to the Nominating Committee by Email to Jim Morrison (srwarden@allsaintswoodbridge.org) or call the church office at 703-670-0093. The Committee will ensure that the person meets requirements according to Church Bylaws and Diocesan Canons.
Please submit your nominee(s) by December 8.
Nominations are requested to fill three openings. The Vestry has prayerfully decided to transition from 12 Vestry members to 9. This will be the second year in that transition as we are replacing four members with three. In 2024 we will complete this transition.
Vestry elections will be conducted during the annual congregational meeting following the 10 a.m. service, January 29, 2023.
Please give your full and prayerful attention to this important yearly call to leadership in the life of All Saints’ Church.

Be a Part of the Living Nativity this Year!
Participate in the tradition of the Living Nativity this December! The Living Nativity is a church-wide annual event that shares the message of a newborn Savior. This year, signups will be in the atrium at the Nativity Kiosk on October 23 & 30, after Sunday services. All ages are needed to fill five scenes from the Christmas gospels, ending in the quiet stillness of a Holy Nativity. Each scene has a splash of lights, live animals, and friends of All Saints' Church! Signups include non-speaking costumed roles, traffic crew, canned food drive collection, parking lot greeters, Christmas light setup, angels/shepherds, leaders, and more! Costumed roles are asked to attend one mini-rehearsal (after Thanksgiving) and the final Dress/Scene Rehearsal (week before the event) for one hour or less each.
The Living Nativity date this year is Friday, December 16, 6:30-8:30 p.m.! Contact Tara with any questions.

Hurricane Ian- You can help!
Hurricane Ian hit Florida on September 28, where over 2.6 million homes and business have already lost power. One of the strongest hurricanes ever to hit the United States, it regained strength as it headed inland.
