Rainforest Falls VBS is just over a month away, and there are lots of easy ways to help transform our church into a rainforest adventure! Whether you’d like to craft something at home (adopt-a-prop), lend a few items (lend-a-prop), donate some specific recyclables for a creative project (save-a-scrap), or help decorate a room or hallway (pick-your-patch), there’s a place for everyone to jump in.

Adopt-a-Prop (Updated): Craft at home
Our decorating team is busy making plans to turn hallways and classrooms into a rainforest paradise, and many of the props can be created right from home. From simple cut-and-create projects to more hands-on builds, there’s something for every skill level and schedule. Whether you love crafting, building, painting, or just want to lend a helping hand, you can make a big impact!
Please take a look at the updated sign-up list to “adopt a prop.” You will find it in the Atrium or at www.allsaintswoodbridge.org/vbs . Each project includes a description and details so you can choose one that’s a great fit for you.
Lend-a-Prop: Loan some décor
If you have any of the items listed below, we’d love to borrow them for VBS. We’ll take good care of them and return them after the week is over. The items you share can help bring Rainforest Falls to life! Click here to see the full list and sign up (or sign up in the Atrium).
· Artificial plants and trees
· Lantern
· Rowing Oars
· Hammock
· Rope ladder
· Small canopy pop-up tent (4-ft, 5-ft, or 6-ft)
· Stuffed Rainforest animals
· Christmas tree stands (not the tree, just the stand)
· 8' ladders
Save-a-Scrap: Donate needed items
One person’s scrap is another person’s rainforest! We’re collecting a few specific items that will be transformed into VBS decorations and props. Unlike our Lend-a-Prop items, these materials will be cut, painted, glued, and otherwise repurposed, so they will not be returned after VBS.
· Giant tubes such as carpet rolls (not wrapping paper, paper towel, or tp rolls)
· Old men’s neckties (will not be returned!)
· Artificial flowers or greenery (specify if this is a loan or donation)
· Refrigerator or stove-size boxes (nothing smaller is needed)
· Rolls of green or brown paper (any size)
· Plastic tablecloths (rectangular)—green (we need lots!), blue, orange, yellow, red
· Old golf umbrellas or patio umbrellas (these will not be returned)
A quick note: we're only looking for the items listed above. As much as we appreciate your enthusiasm, please don't bring us mystery boxes of recyclables and send us on a treasure hunt! If it'‘ on the list, we’d love it. If it'‘ not, we'‘e probably all set.
Pick Your Patch of Rainforest: Decorate a space
Want to help bring Rainforest Falls to life? Choose a room or hallway and have fun decorating it for VBS! We’ll provide ideas and supplies, but feel free to get creative and make it your own.
Grab your family, invite a friend, team up with your spouse, or jump in and meet some new people. It’s a fun and easy way to be part of making VBS special for the kids.
