We had about eight people come in for prayer during last Saturday’s food pantry.
Among them was a woman from Peru, who came in with her family. The woman’s father had died overnight in Peru. When she arrived at the food pantry, she was still very much in the first stages of grief. Valarie offered to do a service for the family, which they gladly accepted.
Also, as another source of encouragement, a member of our Dorcas Ministry, Marty Sloan, provided two bags of shawls to hand out at the food pantry.
In addition to All Saints’, Marty does needlework for another church (Sacred Heart Catholic in Manassas). She mentioned to them that All Saints’ provides shawls for women at the food pantry.
So moved by that gesture, Sacred Heart donated the two bags full of shawls. It was perfect timing since we were down to maybe one shawl left to hand out coming into Saturday. God met that need for sure.
