Adult Summer Sunday School
The last day of our current offering, “Discovering How To Pray,” will be June 22. Beginning June 29, we will review Jesus’ prayer for us as He walked to the garden of Gethsemane. We will explore a variety of topics through the Summer and conclude with a fun Bible Trivia event on August 24. Come and Enjoy!
Youth Sunday School
Beginning June 29, Youth (6th grade through recent youth group alumnae/college students) are invited to attend a seven-week Sunday School class on the Synoptic Gospels. Synoptic, meaning "seeing all together" describes the close parallels that exist between the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Scholars have studied the “Synoptic Problem” for centuries. Which Gospel came first, and how, if at all, did the authors depend on the other Gospels or other sources to write their texts? We’ll investigate the authors, language, history, original audiences, and parallel texts of the Synoptic Gospels.
Each week, we will open up with a fun ice-breaker, enjoy donuts, and end with how this all applies to our daily walk with Christ.
Children’s Summer Sunday School!
Rising 1st Grade through Rising 6th Grade
(Nursery will be open for our Preschoolers)
The last day of regular Sunday School for the school year will be June 22. Beginning June 29, we will kick off SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL with eight weeks of Jesus, Our Good Shepherd as part of God's Big Story Anglican curriculum.
The children will explore John 10 with a focus on the image of Jesus as our Shepherd. The unit is intended to be relationally focused. Our prayer is for each child to come to a deeper understanding that the Lord is their Shepherd, who loves and cares for each and every one of them, who knows them personally and will lead them in life and into eternity. Children will learn Bible songs & stories and memory verses, and engage in understanding through manipulatives, conversation, art, and other creative methods.
